Rule Number : 19-0 :SHIPPERS REQUEST AND COMPLAINTSRequest and complains with respect to adjustments in Rates , Rules, and Regulations should be addressed To the Carrier or its agent and should provide all pertinent information in justification of such request or complaint.As used in this document, the phrase Request and Complaints means any communication requesting change in tariff rates, Rules or Regulations: objecting to rate or other tariff charges; and protest against erroneous billings due to incorrect commodity classification, incorrect weight or measurement of cargo, or other implementation of Tariff.
Claims for freight rate adjustment filed in writing shall be acknowledged by the carrier within 20 days of receipt by written notice to the claimant of the tariff provisions actually applied and claimant’s right under the Shipping Act of 1916, or the Shipping Act of 1984, as applicable.
